Visiting in the rain — worth it?
Yes, if you're prepared. The monsoon turns Coonoor impossibly green, fills the waterfalls and clears the viewpoints of crowds. But it also brings heavy mist, slippery paths and — especially in October–November — the risk of landslides and road closures on the ghats.
- Pack a proper rain jacket, waterproof shoes and dry bags
- Check road conditions before heading out each morning
