Money
UPI (GPay / PhonePe / Paytm) is accepted almost everywhere — even small stalls. Carry a little cash as backup for remote viewpoints and the toy-train stops, and for tips.

- Viewpoints: stay behind railings — edges are exposed and paths get slippery in mist
- Keep children close at Dolphin's Nose and Lamb's Rock
- Drive the ghats in daylight; fog and hairpins make night driving risky
- Monsoon: check road & landslide warnings before heading out
- Respect tea-worker areas — photograph with permission, don't wander into estates
- Carry out all litter; the biosphere is under pressure
